Gather 'round Wren's copper still on the patio at Bar Crisol as the veil thins for a dance on the threshold of life and death Thursday, October 29th. @herban_urbalist is hosting an intimate x intentional 3-hour immersion into the ancient art of distillation accompanied by a group - All Souls - altar building practice. As we prepare, pack and run the still together we will also build an ofrenda, or altar, to invite those we've loved x lost to join us in the space.

By choosing to gather with us this evening you are choosing to slow down and nourish your senses with plants and practices that you can take home to inspire your own rituals. We will thoroughly go over the history, ancient arts and mechanics of copper alembic distillation and witness the magical transformation of raw, local botanicals into pure hydrosols and essential oils.

This is a fully hands-on, community-centered evening designed to bring green ritual back into the modern kitchen and the living body.

✺ The Copper Still Setup: Witness the direct mechanics, plumbing, and safety of operating a traditional copper alembic still at home.

✺ All Souls Altar Building: Learn about and assemble the elements required to invite those we've lost into our homes with an altar built to invite, feed, and house the dead through the All Souls threshold.

✺ Kitchen Alchemy & Formulating: Learn exactly how to use your freshly distilled plant spirits for internal medicine, daily tonics, and grounding nervous system support.

✺ Botanical Elixir x Extracts Sensory Tasting: Sip on custom herbal elixirs by Wren's beverage company The MerTails. Smell and be engulfed by single extracts from her library of hydrsols she's distilled over the years, going all the way back to ancient Egyptian perfumes.

✺ Your Own Distillate: Take home a bottle of the custom, small-batch aromatic hydrosol we distill together during our collective ritual.
